Counting Crows Atlantic City Counting Crows in Atlantic City at the Borgata Events Center July 31, 2010 Singer Adam Duritz (former member of the Bay Area band The Himalayans) and guitarist David Bryson formed the Counting Crows in San Francisco in 1991. In addition to his experience in The Himalayans, Duritz had contributed to recordings by the Bay Area group Sordid Humor ("Barbarossa"), though he was never a member. Counting Crows began as an acoustic duo, playing gigs in and around Berkeley and San Francisco. Another friend, guitarist David Immerglück, played with them from time to time, though he was not an official member of the group, experimenting with other musicians in the area. As the emerging band recorded some demos, and later, as other musicians joined the duo to make a full band, Immerglück recorded with the others on some of the songs on their first album. He declined joining the band at the time, because of his membership in two other locally popular bands; Monks of Doom and Camper Van Beethoven. By 1993, the band had grown to a stable lineup of Duritz as vocalist, occasional pianist, and primary songwriter, Bryson on guitar, Matt Malley playing bass guitar, Charlie Gillingham on keyboards, and Steve Bowman, as drummer, and the band was a regular in the Bay Area scene. The same year, the Counting Crows signed to Geffen Records. January 16, 1993, the band, still relatively unknown, filled in for Van Morrison at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony, and was introduced by an enthusiastic Robbie Robertson. Etess Arena August 27th, 2010 Former lead singer for Fleetwoof Mac, Stevie Nicks was born in Phoenix, Arizona.  When she was 4 years Stevie would sing country and western duets with her grandfather.  It all began when started songwriting and performing at Menlo-Atherton High School, where she met her future long-time companion and former lover, Lindsey Buckingham.  Lindsey and Stevie signed with Polydor Records, and produced their collaboration, "Buckingham-Nicks". Of copurse, the album flopped, and the two (who were now lovers) were dropped from the label, but not before attracting the attention of Mick Fleetwood, who invited them to join Fleetwood Mac. Two years later, in 1975, Fleetwood Mac's self-titled album topped the charts, headlined by Stevie's "Rhiannon". Success for the band, and for Stevie Nicks, was immediate. The legendary "Rumours" album followed in 1977, at the same time Stevie's relationship with Lindsey came to an end. Stevie's solo career began in 1981 and met with instant success. The stress of maintaining a solo career and remaining with Fleetwood Mac became too much for her, she over indulged and became addicted to cocaine and prescription medication. Barbara was a pharmaceutical plant manager. Humperdinck—who changed his name legally to his stage name at the height of his career —hit the top five British album charts in 2000 with Engelbert At His Very Best, and returned to the album top five four years later, after he appeared in a John Smiths advertisement.  In August 2005, Humperdinck auctioned his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on eBay to raise money for the County Air Ambulance in Leicestershire, where he spent much of his British youth. Engelbert Humperdinck's  latest album, The Winding Road, released in September 2007, is a tribute to British composers.  During the creation of the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach, Humperdinck was asked by Damon Albarn to perform on a selection. Bob Saget Atlantic City Bob Saget in Atlantic city at Borgata Music Box on October 9th, 2010 Robert Lane "Bob" Saget is a stand-up comedian, actor, and television host. Although he is best known for his past roles in the family-oriented shows Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos, Saget is known outside of television for his starkly blue stand-up routine.Saget was born in Philadelphia. His father, Benjamin, was a supermarket executive, and his mother, Rosalyn, was a hospital administrator. Bob Saget lived in Norfolk, Virginia, and Encino, California, before moving back to Philadelphia and graduating from Abington Senior High School. Bob Saget originally intended to become a doctor, but his Honors English teacher, Elaine Zimmerman, saw his creative potential and urged him to seek a career in films.  He enrolled at Temple University's film school, where he created Through Adam's Eyes, a black-and-white film about a boy who received reconstructive facial surgery. In 1978, the film was honored with an award of merit in the Student Academy Awards.Saget enrolled in graduate school at the University of Southern California but quit a few days later. Saget describes himself at the time in an article by Glenn Esterly in the 1990 Saturday Evening Post: "I was a cocky, overweight twenty-two-year-old. Sinbad at Resorts Sinbad Live in Atlantic City October 23, 2010 at Resorts Super Star Theatre Sinbad was born November 10, 1956. He was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan as David Adkins. In the 1980's and 90's Sinbad became a well-known comedian and actor. He had his own HBO specials and appeared on several television series. He starred in some family-friendly films such as "First Kid," "Houseguest," and "Jingle All the Way." Sinbad was in the U.S. Air Force and was assigned to McConnell Air Force Base located in Wichita, Kansas. He would often go into town to do his stand-up routines. He also competed as a comedian/MC in 1981 in the USAF Talent Contest. He began his career by appearing on Star Search. From there he has appeared on various television shows and landed key movie roles.
