#5 – Social Distortion
One of the leading members of the hardcore punk rock movement in the 1980′s, Social Distortion is perhaps best known for their works “Story of My Life”, “Ball and Chain”, and their cover of “Ring of Fire”, originally performed by Johnny Cash. Social D to this day has a very strong following and is credited as one of the greatest punk bands still performing today. Now, a whole new generation is getting a chance to discover and rock out to Social Distortion, some of whom for which this event will be their first Social Distortion concert. #1 – Blink 182
This sold out punk rock extravaganza is Blink 182′s first show in Atlantic City since formally stating their return earlier this year. The guys in Blink 182 took some time off in 2005 for the first time since they formed a band in 1992, in order to pursue side projects, and now they are back! October 3rd at the Borgata Events Center the band is performing their greatest hits and their newest material.
The guys have also confirmed they are working on a brand new album, picking up “right where they left off” according to an internet post made by the band. Fans of Blink 182 who were lucky enough to get tickets to this show are in for a definite treat, especially those who have never seen them live before. Blink 182 commonly plays their songs at a slightly faster tempo live and often replaces lyrics of lesser importance with jokes and other gags to the crowd’s approval. These guys know how to party, and if you aren’t there, you’re truly going to be missing out.
