Seafood Festival Atlantic City, NJ

September 15 and 16, 2012Have you heard about the 2012 Seafood festival happening in Atlantic City, NJ?  It’s all the rage within the local community and over time, this annual event is sure to warrant an overnight trip to Atlantic City for this award winning two day festival.

What’s this all about?  If you like seafood, beer and wine, live music, chef demonstrations or you have children and want to take them to a fun day outdoors, this is for you.

When is the Festival?  Saturday and Sunday 9/15, 16, 2012 from 11am to 7pm daily.

Where do I buy tickets? At the door is the best way, the price is $10 per adult and free from children under 12 years old.

Where is it held?  At beautiful Bader Field at the entrance to Atlantic City off Albany ave near Bernie Robbins stadium.

Is there parking?  yes, there are 1,000′s of spaces, the cost is $5.00 per car.

Will there be live music?  yes, the band schedule currently lists 8 + bands starting at 12 noon Saturday and 1:30pm on Sunday.  A few bands that will be performing are Full Blown Cherry, The Rubber Soles, Bubba Mac Blues Band, Sensamotion and the Who Dat Band along with several others.

What restaurants will be the Seafood Festival? Over 20 restaurants including: Casey’s and Ben’s Lobster Den, Chart House, Harry’s Oyster Bar & Seafood, Ikes Famous Crab Cakes, Jay’s Crab Shack, Phillips Seafood, Surf Taco of Point Pleasant and the Palm to name a few.

What is there to do for my kids?  This list keeps growing, for an additional fee, you children Can access the petting zoo, ride cool carnival style rides, visit the AC Aquarium aquatic touch tank, fly a kite, take a boat ride, eat Italian water ice, get their face painted and much much more.

What is there to do for grown ups? This list begins with all the great seafood restaurants from our region, plus, you can visit the NJ beer and wine tent, get in front of your favorite band and dance, take a cool boat ride on the Jessie O, watch a cooking demonstration and engage in all of the many activities on the schedule.

Duality Atlantic City the New 3 D Experience for Free

Boardwalk Hall every 1/2 hour from 9 pm to 2 amThe Atlantic City Boardwalk now has a Free attraction called “Duality” for everyone in your family to check out.  It is a 3-D light and sound experience shown of the front of Boardwalk Hall after dark.  The show is about 9 minutes long and features some really cool effects, you and your family will enjoy this escape from the norm.  The majority of the spectators really had fun, I think you will too.  This project was designed world-famous new media and entertainment studio, Moment Factory who are based in Canada and have done work in the past for the Olympics, Madonna and many other elaborate projects.

The Atlantic City Alliance (ACA) created the idea, budgeted the money and solicited a service provider to develop the free for the public show.  While in AC and in the area of the Boardwalk after dark, zip down to catch this show, it’s fun for the entire family!

Atlantic City Country Club is the most historic golf course in the region.You may not know that the term “Birdie” was coined on the 18th hole at Atlantic City Country in 1898.  In addition to the incredible history, ACCC is located on the water across from the seaside towns of Margate, Ventnor and Atlantic City.  ACCC has hosted 5 LPGA US Opens, The very first ever PGA Senior Tour Event in 1980, US Amateur Championships ans many many more. ACCC was the home of John J McDermott when he won the US Open Championship in the years 1911 and 1912.

Twisted Dune Golf Club is carved from a sand quarry and boasts large changes in elevation, lots of mounds and dune grass along with beautiful fast greens.  Designed by local businessman Archie Struthers, Twisted Dune is a hit for every golfer that plays the course.  Perennially a Golf Digest 4 star places you can play award winner, Twisted Dune will not disappoint you. Vineyards at Renault Winery is the newest course to be built in the South Jersey Region and is a recommended stop in the Atlantic City area.  Always in good shape with very distinct holes, you especially enjoy teeing off over the Vineyards along with the tough par 3′s.  No driving range here but generally offers a practice net to get loose.

Cape May National Just off the Garden State Parkway a few miles South of Atlantic City and very close to Wildwood, Cape May, Stone Harbor, Avalon, Ocean City and points south.The layout is designed on a natural piece of land surrounded by parks and bird sanctuary’s, nature is everywhere on this course. Rock and Roll Hall of Famer’s Lynyrd Skynyrd are coming to Atlantic City October 17th at the Borgata Events Center. Southern Rock doesn’t get any better than Lynyrd Skynyrd and all you have to do is listen to just one of their songs to understand what makes Lynyrd Skynyrd the best of the best. #1 – Blink 182

This sold out punk rock extravaganza is Blink 182′s first show in Atlantic City since formally stating their return earlier this year. The guys in Blink 182 took some time off in 2005  for the first time since they formed a band in 1992, in order to pursue side projects, and now they are back! October 3rd at the Borgata Events Center the band is performing their greatest hits and their newest material.

The guys have also confirmed they are working on a brand new album, picking up “right where they left off” according to an internet post made by the band. Fans of Blink 182 who were lucky enough to get tickets to this show are in for a definite treat, especially those who have never seen them live before. Blink 182 commonly plays their songs at a slightly faster tempo live and often replaces lyrics of lesser importance with jokes and other gags to the crowd’s approval. These guys know how to party, and if you aren’t there, you’re truly going to be missing out.
